RACE INFORMATION

24 The Hard Way & The Double Dirty Dozen were first held in 2009.  In it’s brief history the event has served as the Oklahoma Ultra Running Championships as well as the 2013 USATF 24 Hour National Championships.

 

All Events are held at Bluff Creek Park in Oklahoma City, OK, Located at Meridian & Hefner Boulevards.

THE COURSES

24 THE HARD WAY: USAT&F Sanctioned and Certified course will be approximately one mile in length and run on the new asphalt trail on the west side of Bluff Creek. It is a relatively flat course with a few gentle rollers.

DOUBLE DIRTY DOZEN: This course will be approximately two-mile in length and run on the unpaved trails of Bluff Creek. This primarily singletrack trail has a lot of quick ups-and-downs and is challenging with its roots, rocks, tree branches and depending on the weather, a little water and mud.

Only On-line Registration is available and closes on October 1, 2014, at 12:01am

Each entrant receives a high-quality shirt in his/her race packet.

DIRECTIONS TO THE EVENT

Bluff Creek is located just north of Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City (right below the dam) at the intersection of W. Hefner Road and N. Meridian Ave. 

PARKING

Parking is provided at the race site in a newly paved parking lot. 

AID STATION

The main event aid station will have the usual ultra fare, including sweet and salty snacks, sandwiches, pot roast, baked chicken, hot soup, noodles, water, Gatorade, soda and more. 

ATHLETE SPECIAL NEEDS, GEAR, CREWS, ETC.

Athletes may place their supplies along course. Although camping is not allowed at Bluff Creek, athletes are welcome to place a tent in designated areas. Please notify Race Directors of Special Needs.

Pacers and are not allowed. If you want to run with someone we ask that you sign up for an event. Crews are allowed and can crew anywhere on the course as long as they do not hinder other runners. 

MILEAGE UPDATES

Mileage updates will be given via video monitor at the completion of each lap. A gun shot will be fired  to notify runners the each race is complete. 

TIMING

The race will be electronically/chip timed and the results provided on-line shortly after the conclusion of the event.
